Beach Tours
The Djilba Wildflower Festival has a strong focus on both environmental and cultural education and one of the highlights over the last 7 years has been the On Country Plants & Culture Tours with the Esperance Tjaltjraak Native Title Aboriginal Corporation Rangers.
Join the Esperance Tjaltjraak Native Title Aboriginal Corporation (ETNTAC) Sea Country Rangers for a unique beach excursion as part of the Djilba Wildflower Festival.

While Djilba celebrates the spectacular wildflowers blooming across the land, this guided walk invites you to discover the equally remarkable underwater forests and grasslands of the Wudjari Marine Park.
Explore the beach with Wudjari Traditional Owners and Sea Country Rangers as they reveal the vital role of seagrasses and macroalgae in keeping our oceans healthy. Learn how these underwater plants provide food and shelter for marine life, support fisheries, improve water quality, stabilize coastlines, store significant amounts of carbon, and hold deep cultural significance for Wudjari people.

This interactive beach-based experience includes:
-
Discovering washed-up seagrass and seaweed and learning to identify common species.
-
Exploring how seagrass meadows support fish, crabs, seabirds, and marine mammals.
-
Hearing Wudjari stories and perspectives on caring for Sea Country.
-
Learning about current marine conservation and research efforts in Wudjari Sea Country.
Suitable for all ages, this relaxed guided beach walk offers a rare opportunity to experience the hidden world beneath the waves—without getting your feet wet.

What to bring: Comfortable walking shoes, weather-appropriate clothing, hat, sunscreen, and a water bottle.
Come and experience the remarkable marine gardens of Wudjari Sea Country and discover why healthy oceans begin with healthy marine plants.
